Editorial Standards & Methodology

How Identity Makers’ editorial team produces, reviews, and maintains the articles in our branding library. This page documents our editorial discipline — who writes our content, how we source claims, and how we correct mistakes.

Who We Are

Identity Makers® is a branding and design agency built around a single thesis: a brand identity is architecture, not decoration. We work with founders who treat that distinction seriously — building names, logos, packaging, and full identity systems for ventures competing globally from India.

The agency operates from India and works with clients across seven primary markets — India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar — alongside engagements in additional markets across Europe, Southeast Asia, and Africa. We hold a 4.8-star rating on Clutch and a 5.0-star rating on Google, based on verified client reviews.

Identity Makers is led by founder Gunjan Chordiya, who established the agency on three operating principles that govern every project: strategic rigor before creative expression, premium execution as a non-negotiable standard, and selective engagement to protect the depth of attention each client receives.

The Identity Makers® mark is a registered trademark.

Who Writes Our Editorial Content

Our blog content carries the byline “Identity Makers Editorial” because it is produced by our internal team rather than a single named author. The Editorial team includes practicing brand designers, brand strategists, naming specialists, and packaging professionals who work on client engagements during the day and contribute to the public editorial library.

Every article published on identitymakers.co is reviewed by a senior team member before publication, with editorial oversight by founder Gunjan Chordiya.

We chose the collective byline deliberately. The articles you read here reflect Identity Makers’ institutional thinking — refined by years of repeated client engagements across industries and geographies — not the personal opinion of any single team member.

Our Editorial Process

Each article on identitymakers.co follows a defined production process:

1. Topic selection. Topics are chosen based on questions we encounter repeatedly in client engagements, gaps in publicly available branding literature, and our internal research into category-wide trends and pattern failures.

2. Research. Each article begins with a research phase that includes review of primary sources — industry studies, trademark databases, design publications, government registries, and academic literature where relevant.

3. Drafting. Articles are drafted by a team member with direct working experience in the subject area. We use AI tools to assist with research synthesis. Every published article is substantively shaped, reviewed, and edited by a human team member before publication.

4. Expert review. Every draft is reviewed by at least one senior team member or by founder Gunjan Chordiya before publication.

5. Publication and indexing. Articles are published with structured metadata to ensure they are correctly understood by search engines and AI systems.

6. Quarterly review. Every article is revisited at minimum once per quarter. Outdated statistics are refreshed, broken links repaired, and significant updates noted in the article.

Our Sourcing Standards

Identity Makers cites sources for every empirical claim. Acceptable source types include:

Government registries (USPTO, IP India, EUIPO, WIPO, and equivalent trademark or business registration authorities in our coverage markets)
Peer-reviewed academic publications in design, marketing, consumer psychology, and adjacent disciplines
Named industry research from established firms (Nielsen, Gartner, McKinsey, Forrester, Edelman, Kantar, Statista, and similar)
Official corporate disclosures (annual reports, SEC filings, regulatory submissions)
Established design and branding publications (Brand New, Print Magazine, It’s Nice That, Pentagram’s published case work)

We avoid citing unattributed survey data, secondary aggregations without original-source verification, anonymous online commentary, and content from generative AI systems treated as a primary source.

Our Accuracy Commitment

If you identify a factual error in any Identity Makers article, write to info@identitymakers.co.

We commit to:

– Acknowledge your correction within two business days
– Investigate the claim against original sources
– Update the article within seven business days if the correction is verified
– Note the correction transparently at the bottom of the article with the date

We do not silently edit articles to remove errors. Corrections remain visible.

Our Methodology

Identity Makers’ editorial perspective is grounded in the methodology we apply to client work. Three principles cut across every article we publish:

Brand as system, not artifact. A logo is one component within a larger brand identity system. We treat the system as the unit of analysis, not the individual asset.

Strategic rigor before creative expression. Aesthetic choices are defensible only when connected to a business outcome. Every published opinion ties back to a strategic argument with stated evidence.

Premium execution compounds. Founders who invest in foundational brand assets recover that investment across every downstream touchpoint. We write for founders who already understand this — not for founders who need persuading that branding matters at all.
